I am an avid traveler and love to experience new cultures! One of my favorite parts of traveling to new places is meeting the different people in each place and discussing how different our lives can be, while learning how our hearts are very much the same. I have been to nine different countries, including Guatemala, Thailand, Peru, Italy, Greece, England, Canada, and more.

The most impactful experience I had abroad was when I traveled to Thailand for a month by myself. I went for a volunteer experience where we rehabilitated elephants back into the forest that were previously used for tourism purposes. We also taught the villagers English, as we were staying with a traditional Karen tribe in northern Thailand.
I gained the experience of planning and executing a solo travel trip and the many adventures that accompany that experience. I got to spend time with traditional Buddhist monks while teaching them English, the mahouts while spending time with the elephants, cook with the village women, weave baskets with elder men, learn Packinyaw, their tribal language, and so much more. It was a truly enriching cultural experience that I immersed myself into and I will never forget this or other trips I was fortunate enough to be a part of.
